At Step 1 of the application, applicants tick a box agreeing to these terms and the Privacy Policy. They also confirm at Step 7 that the information they have provided is true and accurate, and acknowledge that false information may lead to disqualification.

Applicants must meet the criteria set out on the Eligibility page — at least 18 years old, a valid national ID or passport, and a certificate of good conduct and medical certificate. Meeting these criteria does not guarantee selection: places are limited, and reviewers select applicants against the needs of each role and venue.

Roles on this programme are volunteer positions and are unpaid. Whether specific expenses — such as meals or transport during shifts — are reimbursed is confirmed in your volunteer agreement before you are rostered, and is not the same for every role or venue.

Once rostered, you are expected to attend the shifts you have confirmed. If you can no longer volunteer, tell your venue coordinator as early as possible so your shifts can be reassigned — the programme depends on accurate headcounts. Withdrawing does not carry a penalty, but repeated late withdrawal without notice may affect whether you are offered a role in future programmes.

Volunteers are expected to act professionally and courteously toward the public, other volunteers, staff and officials; to follow reasonable instructions from venue coordinators; and to treat everyone without discrimination. Serious misconduct — including dishonesty in your application, breach of confidentiality, or behaviour that endangers others — may result in removal from the programme.

Venues follow the safety procedures set out for the tournament, and you must follow any safety instruction given on site, including during induction and training. The specific accident or liability insurance covering volunteers while on duty is still being confirmed and will be set out in your volunteer agreement.

By taking part, you agree that photographs or video taken of you while volunteering may be used in the programme's own communications — its website, social media and reports. If you do not want to be photographed, tell your venue coordinator, and if an image of you is already published and you would like it removed, contact us via the Contact page.

Volunteers may be exposed to information about teams, officials, security arrangements or other operational details that is not public. You agree not to share this information outside the programme, during or after your volunteering period.

Where a role includes a uniform or accreditation pass, it remains the property of the programme and must be returned at the end of your assignment or when asked. Report a lost pass to your venue coordinator immediately, since accreditation controls access to restricted areas.

These terms are governed by the law of the host country in which you are deployed. If a disagreement arises, raise it with your venue coordinator or through the Contact page in the first instance, so it can be resolved directly wherever possible.
